A re-do in watercolor


I previously did this same image in flat acrylics, a medium I never paint in. Here is the image again done in ink with watercolor. I am trying to increase the vibrancy of my watercolors and I used colors I typically wouldn't on this one. I like that it came out brighter than usual.

Silly birds! Look at them falling off the pole, forgetting they have wings.

That's really cute. I don't know what the acrylic one looks like, but this one is very vibrant and alive. I love the bird with the umbrella!

Fun! It's kind of hard to get out of your "color comfort zone" sometimes. (But I ALWAYS use that shade of green!...)

You did a great job of redoing the image by painting this time. I didn't see the original image that you’ve done through acrylic paints but I'll assume that it looks great. Maybe you can do some dark version of it too.

Great illustrations, the colors you've chosen look just wright to me. You have such a clean but still warm and loose style, absolutely adorable.
